Applications are invited for the position of Locum Part Time Laboratory Haematologist, Alfred Pathology Service, Alfred Health. The haematology laboratory provides a wide range of services, supporting a tertiary teaching hospital which includes state trauma and haemophilia centres, burns, solid organ and bone marrow transplant units, and a smaller regional hospital with obstetric and paediatric patients.
The successful applicant will have a background in, and commitment to, laboratory haematology, including diagnostic morphology and coagulation, and have a strong focus on teaching, quality improvement and laboratory-based research. Expertise in transfusion medicine is highly desirable, with the ideal candidate filling a significant role in leadership and supervision of the blood bank and transfusion service.
Applicants must be legally qualified medical practitioners registered or registrable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and possess Fellowships of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Applicants must demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience in haematology and meet Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in laboratory haematology.
